Mr. Baral, with his combination of technical and management education along with more than 17 years of professional experience in energy sector of Nepal at various capacities as well as enterprising ventures, has seasoned himself as an established energy sector advisor and business professional in Nepal. His contribution as the founding member of Sagarmatha Engineering College in Kathmandu, EuroKids Dhobighat, a Preschool in Lalitpur Lalitpur EuroSchool and Jamboree, a franchised an abroad study test preparation and counseling center in Kathmandu are successful business ventures. As Country Director of Winrock International in Nepal, an US based nonprofit organization, he is currently leading entire portfolio of Winrock International in Nepal. Mr. Baral is maintaining strong networking with key stakeholders in the sectors; development partners, bureaucracy, private sectors, suppliers, MFIs, CBOs, sector experts and other stakeholders which is pivotal specially in the recent context of state restructuring. He has amassed local intelligence on need of the local people for technology, financing, and required mechanism for necessary coordination among stakeholders. Mr. Baral was also involved in upstream intervention; lobbying with government for formulating suitable policies, guidelines and mechanism to create enabling environment to fast-track energy access and enhance productive end use of RE. Mr. Baral has worked in the areas of financial analysis and project finance for number of energy projects, particularly in hydropower, financed by local commercial banks and multilateral agencies such as the International Finance Corporation (IFC). He is skilled in structuring public-private partnership projects, and financial due diligence and financial modelling of infrastructure projects
